Olive Bloom · a two-chair studio
Slow haircuts, colour that grows out kindly.
We take two people at a time. That means a real consultation before anything is mixed, a cut shaped to your hair's own pattern, and a finish you can repeat at home on a Tuesday morning.
- Studio hours
- Tuesday to Saturday, 9.30–18.00, with late chairs on Thursday until 20.30.
- How it works
- Two chairs and one colour room. Every colour appointment starts with a consultation.
- Booking
- Send a request and we reply with two or three times that suit the work involved.
The studio
How an appointment runs
Nothing here is rushed into. Knowing the order of things makes it easier to plan your day — and to tell us what you actually want.
-
01
Consultation first
We look at your hair dry, talk through what has been done to it before, and agree a plan and a price in writing. Colour clients are patch tested at least 48 hours ahead.
-
02
The work itself
Colour is mixed for your hair on the day rather than to a standard recipe. Cutting is done section by section, following growth pattern and density instead of a fixed shape.
-
03
Finish and home plan
You leave with a styled finish and a short written note: which products we used, how to dry it yourself, and when the colour will want refreshing.
Services & pricing
What we do, and what it costs
Times below are the chair time we hold for you. Prices start from the figures shown and are confirmed after your consultation.
Colour
All colour work includes a patch test, toner and a finishing blow-dry.
-
Root shadow & gloss
Softens a hard regrowth line and returns shine to mid-lengths. Good between bigger appointments.
-
Half-head highlights
Brightness through the top and sides, keeping your natural depth underneath.
-
Full balayage
Hand-painted lightening from mid-length to ends, cut to grow out softly. Usually refreshed twice a year.
-
Single-tone refresh
One shade, root to end, for grey coverage or a clean reset before other work.
-
Colour correction
Box colour, banding, or an old lightener that has gone brassy. Always quoted after seeing the hair in person.
Cutting
Cut with a blow-dry finish unless you would rather keep it dry and quick.
-
Dry cut & style
Shape adjusted on dry hair so you see exactly what you are getting as we go.
-
Wet cut with blow-dry
Wash, cut and a full finish. The usual choice for a bigger change of length.
-
Curl-pattern cut
Cut curl by curl on dry hair for coily, curly and wavy textures, then finished without heat.
-
Fringe trim
A tidy-up between appointments, included at no charge within six weeks of a cut with us.
Care & finishing
Add to any appointment, or book on its own.
-
Bond-repair treatment
For hair that feels stretchy or rough after lightening. Sits under any colour service.
-
Scalp wash & blow-dry
A long wash at the basin, a scalp massage, and a smooth or soft-bend finish.
-
Occasion styling
Set or pinned styling for a day that matters. Book a trial if the style is new to you.
Longer, denser or previously lightened hair needs more product and more time, so the final figure can sit above the starting price. We tell you the number before we begin, and it does not change afterwards.
Stylists
Who will be in the chair beside you
Ask for someone by name when you send a request and we will match it to the days they are in.
-
Marin Adeyemi
Colour & correction
Spends most of the week on balayage and on unpicking colour that has been layered up over years. Will always talk you out of a change your hair cannot hold yet.
In studio: Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday
-
Rae Kowalski
Cutting & curl
Cuts dry, works with curl and coil patterns, and is the person to see if your hair has never quite sat the way the photo did.
In studio: Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday

Jun Okafor

Good to know
Before your first visit
The questions we are asked most often, answered properly.
How do I book an appointment?
Send the request form below with the days that suit you. We reply with two or three options that fit the chair time your service needs, and hold one for you once you confirm.
Do I need a patch test for colour?
Yes, for any service with dye in it, including a gloss. It takes five minutes and has to happen at least 48 hours before your appointment, so tell us if you are booking colour with us for the first time.
How long should I set aside?
Treat the times in the service list as a floor, then add fifteen to twenty minutes for consultation and finishing. A full balayage with a cut is realistically a half-day appointment.
I don't know what I want yet. Can I still come in?
Please do. Book a consultation on its own, bring photos of hair you like and hair you don't, and we will tell you what is achievable now and what needs a couple of appointments to reach.
What if I need to change or cancel?
Let us know at least 24 hours ahead and we will move you at no cost. With only two chairs a late cancellation usually means the slot stays empty, so we ask for as much notice as you can give.
Do you cut curly and coily hair?
Yes. The curl-pattern cut is done on dry, unstretched hair and finished without heat. Come in with your hair as you normally wear it rather than freshly straightened.

- 02
You get a reply with two or three possible times, plus a patch-test slot if colour is involved.
